Tiny Lafleur Science Bursary
1 award of $1,000
For fields like Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Math, etc.
Health Services Scholarship
1 award of $1,000
For Nursing, Psychology, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Psychiatry, etc.
Creative Arts Scholarship
2 awards of $500 each
For Music, Dance, Culinary Arts, Media & more!
Business/Entrepreneurship Scholarship
2 awards of $500 each
For Business Degree, Administration, Management, etc.
Trades Bursary
2 awards of $1,000 each
ALL trades: Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Operator, Meat Processing, Welding & more!

General Requirements and Process
- Register in a University / college program related to the chosen categories.
- Applicants must be registered at Hugh Sutherland School.
- Application mailed or emailed by no later than May 15, 2026
- Application Letter detailing your interest in the chosen program and your future plans.
- Provide recent grades relating to the award category.
- Meet any grade requirements for the award category.
- Include Teacher’s comments and endorsement.
- The award must be used the following school year with proof of enrollment. A copy of the tuition receipt from the post-secondary institution will be required by the Elks awards committee in order for the applicants to receive the money for these awards.
- A committee of Elks members and one citizen-at-large will select the recipients.
- A member of the Elks will present awards at the Cap and Gown ceremony.
